License and free trial

The free trial

When you install GPTSheetsPlus you can use it straight away, with no license and no keys. The trial runs on keys we provide and is counted per provider, per Google account:

A “use” is one real API call. Cached results do not count, so recalculating the sheet or re-entering the same prompt does not spend your trial.

When a provider’s trial is used up, the cell shows a message that starts with:

Error: Free trial for OpenAI used up (10/10). To keep going: Step 1: ...

The lifetime license

The license costs $19, once. There is no subscription, no renewal and no account. It includes every function and every future model update.

1. Buy the license. Checkout is handled by Lemon Squeezy and your key is emailed to you.
2. Open a spreadsheet that you own and choose GPTSheetsPlus: AI + Scraper → Activate License.
3. Paste the key and click OK.

Activate from a sheet you own

License activation is verified from inside the spreadsheet. Run it from a spreadsheet owned by your Google account, not one that was merely shared with you. After activation the license works in every sheet, including shared ones.

If you choose Activate License again later, the add-on tells you the license is already active and shows the key.

After activation: your own API keys

Once licensed, functions run on your provider keys, so you pay the providers directly at their prices, with nothing added. Add keys from GPTSheetsPlus: AI + Scraper → Set API Keys:

You only need keys for the providers you use. If you call a function without its key, the cell shows Error: OpenAI API key not set. Get a key at ... with the exact menu item to use.

Where keys are stored

Keys and the license are saved in the user properties of the add-on, a per-user store that Google keeps inside your Google account. That means:

• You set a key once and it works in every spreadsheet you open.
• Other people who open your spreadsheet do not get your keys or your license. They use their own trial or license.
• We never receive your keys. There is no GPTSheetsPlus server that stores them.

To replace a key, choose the same menu item again. It shows the current key and asks whether you want to change it.

Sharing a sheet with others

Formulas are evaluated under the account of the person viewing the sheet. A colleague opening your sheet needs their own trial or license and keys for the formulas to recalculate on their side. If you want to share results without that, paste the results as values before sharing.
